It is important to understand your skin type before purchasing a foundation. A good foundation is one that balance your skin type and suit your skin colour well. Foundation ranges from light, medium to full coverage on the skin.


Light Coverage: Does not hide skin imperfections or flaws, it is best suited for those who have almost perfect skin and to even out slight imperfections on the skin. 

Medium Coverage: Able to hide mild flaws and slight skin imperfections, evens out skin tone to give skin an overall fresher look. Not suitable for those looking to hide major skin imperfections.

Full Coverage: It helps to cover the skin completely, hide skin imperfections and even out skin tone.



  1. Liquid Foundation

The most popular type of foundation that goes on the face easily, provide heavy coverage and is suitable for those with dry skin. It can be applied using makeup brush, make up sponge and fingers. However, it may not be suitable for those with oily skin as the moisturizing finish make oily area even more oily. 


  1. Pressed Powder / Loose- Powder Foundations

Easy way to get a smooth finish for normal to slightly oily or slightly dry skin and provide a natural finish. It comes in a compact case, making it easily portable and suitable for on-the-go touch ups. However, it is not suitable for those with oily skin as the powder foundation will look clumpy on the skin and for those with dry skin, the powder will exaggerates dry areas.

It provides the best coverage for blemishes and breakout, typically offering medium to full coverage, This foundation is very suitable for on-the-go touch ups as well. However, it is rather difficult to blend over large areas and if the finish is too creamy, it will crease into lines at the eye area.

Blemish Balm (BB) Cream is suitable for almost all skin type, it has a creamy formula and can help to even skin tones and moisturizes skin. It also contains a combination of hydration, soft coverage and sun protection all in one product. 


  1. Tinted Moisturizers

It is mainly to provide minimum coverage hence it is not ideal for covering up blemishes or major skin flaws. However, it is ideal for providing lightweight summer coverage, creating a bright skin tone.
