For those facing dry skin woes, the hydrating and healing properties of aloe vera will help to solve it. After cleansing the face, forego your usual moisturizer and use aloe vera instead. 

 

Tips: After shaving , apply aloe vera to the skin to avoid redness and irritation which often comes afterwards. 

 

DIY Aloe Vera Mask ( soothing mask for dry skin )

  

Ingredients:

1.1 Tablespoon Aloe Vera Gel

2. 1 Teaspoon of Avocado

3. 2 Teaspoon of Ground Rolled Oats 

 

Instructions:

1.Mash the avocado well or use a blender

2. Mix with Aloe Vera Gel 

3. Add ground oatmeal to get the creamy texture 

4. Apply mask after cleansing

5. Leave it on for 20 minutes

6. Rinse off residue and wipe with a clean towel
 

2. Banana

Banana contains moisture, potassium, Vitamin E & C which helps to achieve glowy skin. The silica in banana helps to increase the production of collagen, a natural protein to keep skin hydrated and smooth.

 

Tips: For DIY masks, it is best to use a ripe banana which has more benefits. 

 

DIY Banana Face Mask ( To target wrinkles and fine lines )

 

Ingredients:

1. 1 whole ripe banana

2. 1 Teaspoon of Orange Juice

3. 1 Teaspoon of Greek Yogurt 

Instructions:

1. Chop & Mash 1 whole ripe banana

2. Add the Orange Juice 

3. Add Greek Yogurt 

4. Mix well & leave it in the fridge for 10 mins 

5. Apply to face after cleansing

6. Leave on for 15 - 20 minutes

 

DIY Banana Face Mask ( To whiten skin tone)

Ingredients: 

1. 1 whole ripe banana

2. 1 teaspoon of Lemon Juice

3. 1 teaspoon of Honey

 

Instructions:

1. Chop & Mash 1 whole ripe banana

2. Add the Lemon Juice

3. Add the Honey

4. Mix all the ingredients well 

5. Leave on for 10 minutes

6. Rinse off residue and wipe with a clean towel

Milk is known to be one of the best moisturizers for dry skin water as it contains fat and proteins that can help replenish the loss of moisture in dry skin type. Also, milk can be used to cleanse the face as it has the ability to remove the oil-soluble impurities with the help of fat-soluble enzyme lipase, protein-based impurities with the help of protease and dead skin cells with lactic acid.

 

PS: People with acne-prone skin should use buttermilk or yoghurt instead of using fresh or whole fat milk, always do a patch test before trying any new beauty regime. 

 

DIY Milk Face Mask ( For Dry Skin )

Ingredients: 

1. 1 teaspoon of Powdered Milk

2. 1 teaspoon of Honey 

3. 1 teaspoon of Aloe Vera Gel

4. 2 Drop of essential oil

Instructions:

1. Mix all the ingredients together

2. Leave on for 15 - 20 minutes

3. Rinse off the residue with warm water and wipe with a clean towel

 

4. Turmeric

Turmeric is a spice that is often used for cooking however it is often used in both natural and conventional skincare products. The benefits of Turmeric is that it can be used to reduce swelling (inflammation) and irritation of the skin. 

 

DIY Turmeric Face Mask ( For Acne Prone - Oily Skin )

Ingredients:

1. 2 Tablespoon of Turmeric Powder

2. 1 Tablespoon of Chickpea Flour 

3. 1 Tablespoon of Honey

4. 2 Tablespoon of Yogurt or Milk 

Instructions:

1. Mix all the ingredients together 

2. Leave on for 15 - 20 minutes

3. Rinse off with water

4. Rinse with regular facial cleanser

5. Follow up with usual skincare routines
